Live at kExP vOl. 10
brand partnership + activation
This is less a flex in “look at these clever things I wrote,” and more a demonstration of “look what I got a client to fall in love with.” Not-for-profit credit union BECU was a longtime client who liked to play things safe, all while keeping an ongoing relationship with fellow nonprofit and beloved musical institution KEXP—a relationship they hadn’t fully capitalized on.
To give BECU street cred and prove their roots to the PNW community, my partner and I convinced our clients at BECU to amplify that partnership by creating an album. Our clients said yes. KEXP said yes. And after a year of artist negotiations and vinyl pressings, Live at KEXP Vol. 10 hit the shelves.
cooking with concept
While concepting the album art, my partner and I wanted to create something grounded in community. Something greater than the sum of its parts. Something iconic. So naturally, we came up with a giant sandwich, piled comically high. We then took this concept and blew out an entire theme, proliferating it through all facets of the album and its promotion.
thoughts re: making an album
I’m a lucky lady who makes things every day. But rarely do I get to make something I’m so deeply proud to display in my home. Something that has my name printed on it alongside my heroes, like Khruangbin, Angel Olsen, and Cheryl Waters—just to name a few.
